This FAQ handles frequently asked questions and technical problems regarding the game and the Leveleditor. Please see the file Diamond Caves 3 tips & tricks for hints and tips regarding game-play!

optionsQuestion: Every time I start the game all I get is a grey/black screen

Answer: This is a problem with the installed driver for your video card and the fullscreen mode of Diamond Caves 3.

The best solution is to update the driver for the video card. Drivers for most major cards can be downloaded at ati.com (Radeon) und nvidia.com (GeForce).

Another way to bypass the problem is to play the game in window mode. To select this mode, go to the startwindow of Diamond Caves 3 and click on "Options", then choose "Configure game play options". In the following window you can select the window size and swich betwwen fullscreen- and window-mode (see image to the right).

Question: I want to order but I have a question regarding the payment process

Answer: All orders are process using the share-it! internet payment service. Click here for more information about how to order using share-it!

Question: I registered my copy of Diamond Caves 3 but I have not received my access code

Answer: This can have a number of reasons, usually access codes are sent via E-Mail within 48 hours after the payment process has been completed. Please check the following:

  • You have to provide a valid E-Mail address at the time of registering. A registration confirmation will be sent immediately after you ordered online. This E-Mail does not yet contain the access code, it is just a first confirmation.
  • You have to make sure that your spam-filter does not delete messages from the domain @diamond-pro.com. If you are not sure, please contact your local Internet provider or mail administrator.

There have been a few issues where an overreacting spam-filter deleted the mails containing the access code! This is something we can not check on our side, all we can do is send the E-Mail to the address give in the registration mail. If nothing else helps, please send a written letter to this address:

Question: I am a registered user of Diamond Caves 3 but I have lost my access code

Answer: No problem, just write an E-Mail to and I will send you a new access code. Attention: The code can only be sent to the E-Mail-Address that was used at the time of registration!

Question: I played the game Emerald Mine back on the Amiga. Is there a windows version of Emerald Mine? Can I get an update to Diamond Caves 3?

Answer: No, the game Emerald Mine was not produced by diamond productions. Diamond Caves 3 only follows the same game rules. There is no windows version of Emerald Mine and unfortunately no update option to Diamond Caves 3.

Question: I want to uninstall the game but all I get is an error message

Answer: In rare cases, the uninstaller claims he does not find the file "Install.log". In this case, simply delete the complete "Diamond Caves 3" folder (including all subfolders).

Question: After a short while playing a Level, all Emeralds turn into bugs!?

Answer: This problem is caused by a broken or damaged access code. Please write an E-Mail to to request a new key. Attention: A new code can only be sent to the E-Mail-Address that was used at the time of registration!
