What's new in Diamond Caves 3 ?

Information for Diamond Caves II users: A list of all the new features in Diamond Caves 3

New items in the game:

  • Replicators (can create new objects)
  • Teleporter (to transport the Player from one location to another)
  • Light barriers (can be turned on and off, enemies can cross disabled light barriers)
  • remote controlled bombs
  • chests (can contain items)
  • eight different notes per Level
  • Hammer (Player can crush brick walls and open chests with it)
  • new Jewel: the Ruby (worth two Emeralds)
  • the Megabomb (explodes in a 5x5 radius)
  • brick- and steel-wall with point (can be used to crack a nut)
  • magic steel wall (like magic wall but indestructable)
  • Switch to reset the magic wall
  • growing walls in one direction only
  • narrow passages (like a gate that's open in only one direction)
  • more content in brick wall (can be released with Hammer or Explosion)
  • Tubes (while inside a tube, player can not be harmed by enemies or explosions)
  • more steel-signs
  • wooden doors (like normal gates but destructable)
  • four-colored door (any key is sufficient to cross the gate)
  • Emeraldgate (you have to collect one additional Emerald for the exits to open each time you cross this gate)
  • Skullkey: can open every door
  • fourth conveyor belt
  • new enemy: the slime (can not harm the player but is able to collect an object)
  • second amoeba (yellow)
  • grass (like Earth but growing)

additional new features in the game:

  • larger Levels possible (up to 100.000 squares)
  • Score now 5-digits, Time 4-digit, Emeralds 4-digits
  • higher screen resolution possible (up to 1960x1440)
  • "infinite" Level (if you leave the level to the right, you will reenter it from the left)
  • using ESCAPE in the game you can enter the in-game menu to change options or restart the Level
  • Levelgroups are now predefined to contain single-player or teamwork Levels (or both)
  • Level supporting singple-player and teammode can have different settings (time, score) for both modes
  • Statistic after playing a Level
  • initial state of conveyor belts (and replicators & light barriers) can be configured

new features in the Leveleditor:

  • multi-window mode: you can open several Levels at the same time
  • permanent liste of all Levelgroups to the left
  • Zoom-option
  • new floating window for all selectable items (incl. list of favorite items)
  • Recording of Levels from the Leveleditor
  • more options to manage replay-files
  • Send Levels, Levelgroups and replay-files via E-Mail
  • cut, copy and paste in Level and across Levels
  • easy function to set complex items like text-strings, acid-pools, replicators and conveyor belts into the Level
  • online-update - check the Internet for new Versions and new Levelgroups Levelgruppen
